New market participants with new vehicle concepts and business models are putting traditional automotive groups under enormous pressure. Electrification of the power unit, automation of driving, new mobility services such as car sharing and rideselling, and digitization of the vehicle are the relevant keywords here.
In addition, targets for decarbonisation of the transport sector must be met. An exnovation from the classic combustion engine, innovation into new forms of drive and a radical structural change are inevitable. Of course, this does not only apply to the German automotive industry, but to the automotive sector worldwide.
The study (available in German) examines the challenges and perspectives of this fundamental transformation process.
